Deming Just before 9:00AM.....Glad to have gotten some sleep for a
change last night. Stopped in Wilcox AZ for fuel and continued
forward...Decided to spend the night at the Pilot truck stop in
Buckeye AZ, set up camp and relaxed a bit...Before long I started
dinner...very simple BLT's...No sooner got started when a weird
noise interrupted the day...sounds like a busted water
line................Opened the bathroom door to a wild spray of
water.....Killed the water pump...Well Damn, I have seem this
before.....Crap. Mopped up the floor with a towel and started looking
for the parts/tools I needed for the fix....Found the tools but not
the parts so went about the task of removing the water line to the
toilet,,,then removing the toilet, sure enough the water supply
inlet valve was split..Without the parts, I reset the toilet in place
so it would not roll around...OK, so no water until we get parts.
Been there done that....Finished dinner and called it a day....

27th:
I
think we got out of the truck stop a bit past 8:00 AM...In a little
over an hour we were in Quartzsite,
which would have RV parts. First place we stopped did not have what
we needed, so moved on.. Found what we wanted at RV
Lifestyles at the West end of Quartzsite.....Went to pay but my
card was turned down....Another crap.....Called the bank, but only
got menuses, finally got the right one and authorized my
purchases...Card then went through fine. All is good,,,back on the
road again....
Crossed
into California at Blyth and headed up Hyway 95 North towards
Bullhead City AZ...On the way we stopped for 2 Geocaches. Found
both... Had lunch at the cross roads of 95 and 62 (Vidal
Junction). Then forged forward..Some time around 2:00 PM arrived
at our destination of Riverside
RV park in Bullhead City and set up...After a bit of a rest I
tackled the toilet job....What should have been a 20-30 minute job
ended up being a couple of hours...Yeah, I am getting use to short
jobs taking 10 times longer than they should...Pressure tested
everything and to my delight all was good, we got water again...

28th:
This
was a relax and rest up day. We did take a ride across the river to
Laughlan to look around. We stopped at the Edgewater
Casino and did a walk through. Evidently the same outfit owns the
E
Center where Dolly will be playing. That evening we went to the
Mohave Steakhouse for
dinner...Great meal. We both ordered Prime Rib, but they only had one
left and offered us a combo meal, we opted for a half rack of
ribs...Both were outstanding.
Sept
29th:
The
plan for today is to head over to Oatman for a look see..
We
made it......Had a great time roaming around town taking pictures and
browsing the stores, oh yeah and visiting the Donkey's. There were I
think 3 baby's in the lot, they pretty much own the town...Saw 1 grab
a plastic bag which contained a paper bag of donkey food out of a
guys hand...1 was pulling a vendors wares from and outside shelf, Had
lunch at the Oatman Hotel it included Burro Ears...........Basically
homemade potato chips.

30th:
The
big day. Kinda laid around today doing virtually nothing...Did manage
to get the cover put back on the generator and fix a drawer
slide...We headed over to the E-Center around 6:00 pm and I guess it
was a good thing as the concert was not held there..We were sitting
inside the casino to kill a little time and I put a $10.00 in the
penny slot that I was sitting at...Bang....Cashed out $91.00 and
change...Headed through the hallway towards the E-center and a woman
asks if we are going to the concert...yes....Got to catch a bus
outside as the concert is at the outside concert center. So it's
outside and into a very long line to one of the buses....After a 2
mile ride we end up a block away from where we started...That's just
messed up...We walked back after the concert...Great concert, even for a 70 year old..Good job Dolly. Her humor was outstanding, as well as her singing.
Oct
1:
A
lay around catch up on rest day, accomplish absolutely nothing.
Oct
2nd: Headed for Williams AZ. Well not quite, because
Peanut was not doing well, we diverted and headed for home......Got
in about 8:30 that evening.
Oct
3rd:
Took
Peanut to the vets, decided she did not need to suffer and had her
put down.....Sad day, she will be missed....Took her home and buried
her. She had had liver problems for the last several months and was
on medication although it did not seem to help...
